What I Did This Summer!

With this rainy fall weather upon us, I have been reminiscing about the awesome summer we had! Remember when you returned to school in the fall and got to write a report on “What I Did This Summer”…well, here is my report!

Had wonderful friends visit from out of town.

As a thank you gift, my friends bought me my own fishing rod and tackle box. So, we went fishing off of Albert Head Lagoon. What a beautiful day and have you ever seen so many birds in one place?

Add several Bar-b-ques, kareoke parties and more yard work and that is pretty much what we did this summer!

I Scrap-Lifted Today and It’s Legal!

I clipped this layout idea from a magazine hoping to use it one day. And today was that day!

A couple of weekends ago I went zip-lining with some friends and figured these would be the perfect photos for this layout. And I LOVE how it turned out.

I just wish I could give credit where credit is due but I don’t know who came up with the original layout idea. Whoever it was…thanks for the inspiration!!!

And don’t you just love the little owls (that was my idea)?

I Love Organizing!

I’ve been cleaning and organizing my scraploft. And I thought I would share a couple of my new organizing ideas.

I have what I call my “Inspiration Box”. Whenever I see a layout idea or anything inspirational in a magazine, I clip it out, paste it to cardstock and file it here (remember scrap-lifting is legal). I also keep a notebook were I record favorite quotes, one where I do sketches and a datebook, all in this box.

I also decided to try something new with my brad collection. I cut pieces of chipboard 4 x4, used my Big Bite to punch holes in them, attached my brads, put them on a ring and hung them from my paper cart. Of course, this isn’t my complete brad collection but it’s a start.

A new project!

I wanted to share with you a project I recently completed.

Chris and I made it as a  house-warming gift for a friend. It’s a collage, created around a mirror, of the farm that our friend grew up on.

Sorry I haven’t posted lately. And I have sooooooooo much to share. So stay tuned over the next few days.

My New (old) Bike!

Last weekend Chris bought me a new bike at a garage sale. A vintage 1950’s Raliegh! The lady he bought it from used to ride it around her town in England and than eventually brought it to Victoria. It has an original Oak Bay bicycle license plate on the back. Everything is original including the leather seat, which is actually very comfortable. We cleaned it up and took it for a ride! I love it!!

Creative Fun!

I spent last Friday evening creating ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) with some amazing women.

Wow…they are so creative and inspiring!

Here is a photo of some of their work. Beautiful!

What a Wonderful Week!

In June Chris and I went with our friend to visit his family on their beautiful farm in Alberta. We had such an amazing time! They were so hospitable and took such great care of us! This past week they came to Victoria to visit their son. It was so wonderful to see them again and try to repay there hospitality in some way.

We went to Vancouver for a day (Ikea, Lonsdale Quey, Granville Street)!

We went to the Sidney Market!

We made them dinner and served it in a park over-looking the ocean (oysters, appys, wine, salad, butter chicken and rice)!

MMM! Oysters!

Chris and Shelden went crabbing and got 6 crabs. Then they made us a seafood feast (salmon, salad, baked potatoes, veggies, crab, wine). Delicious!

I love blogging!

I’m just having so much fun playing and learning about bogging that I thought I would do another post before bed.

Here are a few photos of a scrapbook that I did for a friend of mine. The night before their wedding he wanted to give his fiance a scrapbook of their courtship and engagement. He gave me all their memorabilia and love notes and I put the album together for him. She LOVED it! And I loved making it!

They are the cutest couple and so photogenic. And what a beautiful wedding!  Congrats again you two…love you both!
